Local Attractions
Mendocino County offers many varied climates and terrain due to its huge geographical size. Within one half hour of Vichy Springs and Ukiah are 50 wineries, and multiple museums; Grace Hudson, Sun House and Mendocino County Museum, The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, Art Center Ukiah and Corner Gallery, Jan Hoyman Pottery Stuido. There is Lake Mendocino (water-skiing, sailing, jet skiing and fishing-bring your own boat, jet skis and/or equipment), the Russian River, Rubicon Adventures (seasonal whitewater rafting), golf, bicycling, hiking, Montgomery Woods State Park (redwoods), shopping, restaurants, micro breweries, the Skunk Train, and Motive Power Museum, brandy distilleries, mountain biking, and live river and lake fishing and multiple local Tribal Casinos too.
One and one half hours from Vichy Springs, one arrives at the Pacific Ocean, and the coastal towns of Albion, Ft. Bragg, and Mendocino. There are three distinct scenic routes to the coast.
All of the above are located amongst oak/madrone woodlands, ranches, farms, vineyards, orchards, redwood and fir forests with spectacularly beautiful scenery everywhere.
Local shops and artisans abound throughout the county. Some of their wares are displayed in the resort gift shop and Vichy Springs’ staff can direct you to their studios/shops.
